How do I keep my monitor on?

Don't turn it off?? Honestly, I'm not trying to be sarcastic, it's just that I don't understand the question. Does your monitor turn off while in use? Does your monitor not go into 'standby' when your machine is turned off? Or do you want your monitor to stay on even after your machine is turned off? Could you maybe explain your question with alittle bit more detail?

Display Properties/Screen Saver/Power/Power Schemes, then where says "Turn off monitor" select "Never"

AHA!! NOW I know what you meant!! Sorry about that, I really should have taken more time, but since my last round of 'shock treatments,' my mind hasn't functioned very well!! :)

Just as it says. I want my monitor to be on all the time.

I am just as confused as the rest of the posters here.

If you turn a monitor on, at worst, it will go to standby mode.

If you turn off Power Management options, it won't even do that.

You could always post your PC, OS and monitor details, by the way :)

Since you guys didn't ask me what I'm using, I'm going to reveal it. I am using a laptop, with Win 98.

Try giving us a bit more info!!!

What's the problem exactly? does it switch off completly, does it go into power saving mode, is it your screensaver, are you just blinking? Throw us a fricking bone...

As you can see Matrix, you WERE asked! Please try reading the entire thread BEFORE posting a remark like that. Plus, you'll get the help you need quicker. Unfortunatley, I am extremely 'technically disadvantaged' when it comes to laptops so I'm going to bow out gracefully. However, it would seem that by leaving your monitor on constantly it would shorten your battery life unless, of course, you are plugged into an AC outlet.

Look in your BIOS settings then.

Its in one place or the other. The LCD doesn't have a mind of its own.

Good luck to finding your answer. I have a feeling you aren't reading the replies you are getting and are just trying to be difficult. You also didn't read this post, which specifically says to give us your details right off the bat.

It goes blank, every now and then; but I could turn it on by movement.
