monitor problem

    hi geeks ,seems this problem started when i let some one hook thier computer to my monitor ,to see if her monitor was bad .it wasnt she had it hooked up to wrong outlet lol..now its seems mine will go all the way through bootup and start loading windows then goes black and in standby mode?when she had her computer hooked to my monitor it began to download windows on her new computer would that change setting for my monitor?im totally confused on this one.i cant wake monitor up from stand by?help.i am on my laptop now.can i plug monitor into it to check it ,without fear of crashing laptop out?kildar

    Do you have video card installed in addition to your onboard video? It sounds like you have your monitor connected to the onboard when it should be connected to the video card.

    i was able to get into safe mode and restore to a different point .that fixed it.sorry for the trouble dont know why i didnt think of that before.thanks for the help and quick responses.kildar and i am outta here..........

    I wonder if your video driver got corrupt during the swap-ex. Glad you got it fixed.
