I got a 22" LCD VeiwSonic for Christmas, it has a native resolution of 1680x1050.
    I am using a 6600GT vid card

My goal is to be able to play my computer games (that do not support widescreen) in a 4:3 ratio creating black bars on the side.

When I try to scale my monitor with "Use NVIDIA scaling with fixed-aspect ratio" and set a 4:3 resolution I end up with a streched image, no black bars:(

I have tried multiple drivers old and the most recent, any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you use the DVI input then the ViewSonic fills the screen no matter what X-Y resolutions you pick. If you use the VGA-Analog input then you can at least alter the horizontal by adjusting the width with the LCD screen manual controls.
