Monitor,,,Screen Shifts

My Screen Shifts after boot up,( left to right ) sometimes its on center and sometimes its not. If I adjust it,it's fine then at next boot up it might shift again ( not on center ). I've installed the latest Drivers for Monitor and Video and Sound Card,( I'm not a gamer ) ran a monitor diagnostic test,it check out fine. I also installed a new hard drive in the past 6 wks.,but I've also had this problem with the old hard drive. There's no virus's or spyware on my machine,and one have an ideal what this could be. I'm running Windows ME, HP XL-775, 512 Ram,my system runs very smooth,no problem there.

 

Try a different monitor, even though you tested the monitor, just to troubleshoot. If it stops with a different monitor, than there's your problem. If it continues, then you know it's not the monitor.

It sounds like a video card problem to me. What card do you have?

Also post all your specs on your machine: Operating system, RAM, Hard Drive size and brand, processor, etc. The more info the better!!
