Monitor Squeezing

Hi!
I'm asking for someone else, so I may not have enough information available to you for help.

Wondering what may have caused, but more importantly how to fix the computer screen. Or should the monitor be replaced?

For example, when you're on Desktop, the icons at the left and right hand side of the screen seem to appear kinda squished. The writing is smaller and closer together, whereas the middle of the screen is perfect.
Running 800x600.

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

 

You probably just need to adjust screen using the buttons on the actual monitor. It is a common problem for CRT monitors.

 

I'm sorry, I forgot to post about that. My aplolgies.


The person hasn't been able to correct the problem using the monitor adjustment controls. Apparently the screen flashed(?) and suddenly the appearence changed to a squished look at the sides of the screen.

Try degausing the monitor or setting the monitor to factory defaults.

degaussing means the same as to demagnetize, me thinks
