Can you tell me why suddenly my monitor is unstable? It will only stay 'on' for about a minute and then I have to use the spacebar or mouse to get my picture back.

Also, my desktop icons are very slow to open. Any help would truly be appreciated.

    Hi

I just wonder if you have Hibernate or Standby active on your PC ( also is this a desktop or Laptop ) as these functions are power saving options that can cause those types of issues, especially slow recovery of desktop icons.

    Hibernate info

Aslo check in Control Panel > Power Options for Power Schemes and under that heading are oprions for the monitor to go into save mode in which you can change the idle time before that happens and also change the Standby Time ( if its a desktop I always have my Standby time set to Never as its a royal pain in the butt )
