Install updated or re-install your graphic card drivers.

What is the refresh rate set to? ( display properties > settings > advanced > monitor ) set it back to 60hz if not already at that setting and does it help?

Also, as a last resort, if you go into the program directory, you can look for some sort of configuration file. Usually a .cfg or .ini file. Open it up and you may be able to change the resolution in there.

Joe I have an FX5200 card as well. I think the designers of that card
were asleep at the wheel. Type in "fx 5200 blue screen"
into google and you will be surprised at how many hits it gets.
I think that with the way any vendor can purchase parts and make
nvidia cards, it leaves too much room for error, especially
on the bottom end of the price range.
That's why the next card I get is going to be an ATI only
because you can buy one actually made by ATI.
BTW, i'm not saying that your card is the problem here.
But just brace yourself for that possibility.

IF your graphics card fan is making loud noises that were not their before then its very possible that the fan is on its way out, whats the inside of your case like... is it dusty, is the fan on the GFX card full of fluff?

What are the temps of your PC,

    CPU
    Motherboard
( sometimes tells you Hard Drive and GFX card temps, if they have temp sensors )

you can find these out by using Everest ( free ) and clicking Computer > Sensor

If you have another spare GFX card to troubleshoot with for 15hrs then use that to see if it is your GFX card thats at fault.
