Monitor won't detect Computer

I was just downloading some songs for my friend, when I switched to another window. I was reading an email, when the screen started to flicker. In patches around my screen pixels were coloured funny. The startbar turned gray, and then my computer restarted. Normally my computer makes a single beep and then starts up. The mouse and keyboard come on once windows loads. This time however, the computer made a serie sof beeps when it started. One long one, two short and one medium. The mouse and keyboard came to life for about 2.5 seconds and then went back off. This whole time the monitor has read "No Signal Input". I have tried leaving it on for a few mintues, restarting, turning off then on, unplugging the power cord, unplugging the monitor cord, the monitor input, and nothing has worked.

I have work that I need to complete for tommorow, and I can't figure out how to get this to work. I suspect that the monitor may be fried, because its 7 years old, and it was acting weird right before my computer restarted. But that doesn't explain the weird beeping, and behavior.

I was thinking about taking a screen from another computer to try on this one to see if the screen is fried.

Dont sound like the monitor because you have a no signal on the screen,the beep code is bad video card code,can be caused by a few reasons.The first and easiest thing to do is unplug the monitor cable from the video card and the monitor,blow out the pins in the plugs then try it,next is to reseat the video card,again blow out the port and blow the pins clean,then reseat it,connect it all up and try,if it still doesn't work try an old card if you have one,if not the vid card could be dead.
