I've been thinking about putting my resume on monster. I'd be a bit more comfortable doing it if I could get some positive feedback from people who've used, or are still using it.

    Anyone?

I've found it to be the best resource for finding job leads.

Along with posting your resumé, it's very handy set up custom search agents to notify you via email when positions matching your search criteria are posted by employers or recruiters. You can apply online, find out more about the company or agency, etc. No spam, no hassle, very professional.

I think it really depends on the field you are in...I'm in administration/office support and the only things on there are temp agencies and various types of scams...there are very few ACTUAL jobs for my field....lol

But i have never looked at the IT postings, so there may be some good stuff - i dont know...

whatever you do, dont rely solely on ANY one method- post to a couple of sites, look through the newspaper and NETWORK!!!!

    Good luck to you!!!!!!!!

never got any spam from Monster. I still use their service. For IT related jobs, I prefer it over many of the other engines out there.

Agreed. I tried Monster out & it didn't get me anywhere (because of my profession). It definately has its strengths & weaknesses, as with any job clearinghouse resource.

Thanks for the input guys! Judging from the feedback, I think the best thing for me to do is just sign up and see how it goes.

Are you willing to relocate ANYWHERE? I know you can specify on your posting but you are using a national resource for a local goal (if you aren't planning on relocating).

I've looked at monster.com. Seems like you could get into a local network for cheaper (through your newspaper maybe, or something county or statewide -- we have a career builder website here through the paper where you can post your resume in the same way --- but it stays local).

    Just a thought.
