I have a laptop machine sitting here with Windows XP Home Edition. A friend of mine seems to have installed something that makes his computer crash all the time. It just freezes, mouse won't move, etc.

When you log into windows you get this message that says "Devices or applications disabled - 'CD Recording software' will cuase WIndows to become upstable. WIndows has prevented these drivers from being loaded. Clcik here for more details. "

When you click on it, you get: Help and support center. that says a CD recording driver ius installed that might cause stabiulity problem, included shutting down and problems using the CD/DVD drive. THis driver will be disabled.

The driver might have been installed by Easy CD Creator, WIndows Media Player, or RealJukebox.

I have uninstalled all know instances of these software titles. I have ran a full ad ware scan, housecall virus scan, reg vac, and it still gives the error. mcconfig has nothing starting except some printer drivers, wireless stuff, nothing important, same with services. What am I missing, and how can I correct this?

Reg vac, is that one not good? What if I do not have the XP Home CD to do the sfc /scannow ?

 

You might not need to do the sfc /scannow

Alright guys, you got one down, want another?

My machine has a 9800 XT 128MB AGP video card. I run 3 monitors, thus needing a second video card. I have a Nvidia 5200 Geforce in the first PCI slot. I have my BIOS to PLug and Play BIOS, and use the AGP card first. It boots using the AGP 9800 card, and everything works great, when I try and enable the other 2 monitors, I get this. The correct driver is installed, and this worked before I rebooted my machine. Now I have formatted even to try and resolve this and can not. Help?

 

In fact this one is so good of an issue I will give someone vnc access to my through to see this one fixed.
