    Hi all.

Well, I'm trying to get to the bottom of why my Netgear DG834G has decided to pack up on me for no apparent reason, it being only around 3 months old.

I'm running Windows XP on a laptop and usually connect to the router wirelessly, although I had used the cable connection during the initial set up. I turn on the laptop one morning and I can't browse the internet etc.

Now, the computer still recognises that it is receiving the signal from the router, but when attempting to access the router's set up (http://192.168.0.1 if memory serves me), it cannot find anything to open. I've tried resetting it to the factory defaults a number of times, connecting via wireless and cable, trying a different cable just in case, disabling firewalls etc, and still no luck.

I have one step left to try, and that is to hurl the damn thing out of my third storey window and resign myself to having lost £100.

Oh, and I did try Netgear phone support as well. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *falls off chair*

Any advance offered will be most humbly received.

    Thx,

    FooeyUK.
