more ram cooler system?

    Hi I just upgraded my laptop from 386mhz of ram to 1gb and noticed immediately that it runs noticably cooler and the fan rarely even has to come on now. Is it normal for more ram to cause a system to run so much cooler?

    In your case yes.
    Before you only had a little bit of RAM so windoze had to use the swap file on your hard drive lots, that makes the hard drive get hot.

    Now you got whole lotta RAM now windoze never uses the swap file so the hard drive can be cooler.

    You also might notice the battery lasts longer between charges.

    Yup, you probably saved your hard drive from being damaged too.
    You did the rite thing, if you wanna upgrade any computer for better performance the first thing you do is put in lottsa memory. ;)
