    Gentlemen

    I have win98se OS in a Asus p4b533-e with 512 ram.

I have a asus Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 video card, the drivers are 56.64

I have been trying to add another 512 ram.

The machine boots fine, however when I load up Farcry (the game) the video goes nuts.

My original memory chip is a samsung 512 I think its ECC

My new chip that I install to bring my ram up to a gig is kingston 512 non ecc.

I removed my original samsung stick and tried all three of my new kingston ( 1-512) chips one at a time none would work in my machine with the game.

My Asus mb manual says both ecc and non ecc memory chips will work? well they don’t.

Is there something I need to due to get my mother board or the video card to run 1 gig of memory?

    Thanks for the Help

Will your computer boot with the new sticks in place? or you are having problems with the game?

Don't bother. 512 is the maximum amount of RAM that 98 can deal with properly, putting in more will just cause problems. An example:

I would suggest upgrading to XP to make better use of your hardware, then games will run great with 1 gig RAM.

Yes I can boot with the new chips. works great.

Alanc I am adding the new ram because my next step was to install XP on a new hard drive.

I just wanted to make sure the new memory would work.

I will go ahead and install XP and than add the extra memory.

Thanks for the help it is greatly appreciated
