more win2k probs....

hi guys,
thius is the present situation. whenever i try to start win 2k, it boots, then it comes to the screen asking for the user to login with the password. Till there no problem. i login. then,... before everything completes loading, the system just reboots!!! i don`t know y and how.. but it just reboots. tht was in the beginning. later i noticed tht i don`t even need to login.. it reboots around 4 seconds after the login screen has been displayed. sometime later i was able to c the BSOD, just for maybe half a second before reboting. couldn`t read anything in the BSOD. after tht i didn`t get into win2k.
wats wrong? how can i fix it...

P.S : I have win 2k and win XP on dual boot. both r installed on the same partition on my HDD.

i tried safe mode once and there was no probs then..

Safemode only starts the necessary system services and doesn't start anything else.

So the clue must be that you have installed something on your Win2k which loads at startup and causes it to crash.

Since it happens without you logging in then it is most likely a service that causes the crash. (Since they load even if no user is logged in)

The most common programs you can install that creates services is AntiVira and Firewall.

Boot in safemode and try to uninstall these programs, or if you can identify their services then disable them so they don't start at normal boot. (Also check for any other 3rd party service, which doesn't come from Microsoft, though this requires that you know your services well)
