    but here goes.

Is it XP that doesn't allow you to "Refresh" the desktop by right clicking & selecting Refresh? Like say you are working on a wallpaper & you want to view it on screen? In 98 you could just hit refresh to reload the image, but with XP I have to actually open the Display Properties winder to make the change.

So....................................is there something I've been overlooking all this time. Maybe a setting that needs changing or even a utility that makes this possible?

Have you tried to select an icon on the desktop and press F5 ?

I'm running XP PRO SP2 and I have the 'Refresh option' when I R-Click on the desktop. -Weird that you don't: but I haven't an explaination as to 'why'.
