My plans are to upgrade my processor, so where do I go to find out what motherboard/processor I need to get? I have a HP Pavilion Desktop 8250/Intel Celeron 266 MHz. I've seen those motherboard combo's with the cpu included, would those be good?

I believe most HP's of that era came with ASUS motherboards. You may want to start there.

However, be warned you will need new RAM for any motherboard you buy today, what you have now is not sufficeint. Also, the power supply in the case for the 8250 is probably not enough.

Come to think of it, your computer seems too old to upgrade, you should start fresh (not trying to send you down the river, but its the truth).

    Good Luck.

I second that, the job of finding working parts to upgrade your comp and the performance difference you see will be like a wet fart.

Not only that, but that model HP uses proprietary connectors on the power supply, motherboard, and the sound card. The case is a nice size, though; maybe keep the case and just replace everything inside? :)

Is the case ATX?My guess is its micro ATX or HP you can only put our parts in X.
