Since I've come to the conclusion that my mobo is dead (or maybe just the cpu, but what the h*ll, need to save my hdd until I can get another mobo), I could move the hdd to a computer with win 2000 or one with win xp (the hdd is win xp) .... do I need to do anything other than set it as secondary?

just make sure the primary hard drive in the computer you are moving it to is set to either "cable select" or preferably "Master with Slave present"

and then set the moved hard drive to slave.

should pop right up in My Computer.
