I had a Sabertooth 990fx R.2 Motherboard. I had two sticks of 8 gig corsair Vengance ram,one of them Died. Ran Memory Test on it and it said it was bad, And Windows 7 was throwing BSOD about twice a week. I even tried different Slots for that stick of Ram.

So I replace the Motherboard, Get another Sabertooth 990fx. Sure as heck, the Second Stick of the 8 Gig Corsair Ram goes bad. Memory Test Confirmed it, and Windows 7 was throwing BSOD.

The voltage on the Ram is 1.5. Any Ideas What could be eating the Ram??? My computer is a custom Build. Running the AMD 8350 processor.

It sounds like it could be Memory Controller Hub (MCH) issue, especially if your running the "one click OC options" that could allow a spike in vDRAM.

Also I don't like Corsair RAM as I have had 3 out of 3 bad kits from them.

    Hi

Have you checked in the motherboard manual or ASUS website for that motherboard the compatible ram as some should be but are not always compatible, check BIOS updates as motherboard BIOS versions are notoriously out of date.

Does the motherboard work ok with one stick at a time, and test both individually? will show the ram is not bad but likely not compatible as a pair, are they exact ram modules, size and density (density actually does make a difference in matched pairs).

If testing ram do make sure you test one at a time, testing multiples is futile and will not give accurate result.

Very Interesting Reply's. The Bios is pretty close to the current one. I agree with the cosiar ram comment. Won't ever buy anymore of it. I guess my only options is to find out what ram is compatible with this motherboard.

Right now I am running 8 new gig of ram. Wait and see if it lasts or this mother board eats it over time.

I am not over clocking anything on my computer. Right now the computer is ok fine. I know some of you guys are super good with hardware issues. So, I just needed ideas to deal with ram issues should they happen again.

So If anyone can suggest What Kind of ram I should use, I would appreciate it. I will buy it, keep it close on hand in case this ram goes bad. Thank goodness ram is cheep.

I forgot to add. Yes, the computer was fine once the bad stick of Ram was removed. No more BSOD, and Memory Test was fine. I check all 4 Slots.

Is there anything I need or can do to help with the memory controller issue?? A setting in the BIOS maybe? I thank you Kindly for the reply's and suggestions. Keep em coming if you can. Have a nice day.

If you have not made any changes in the BIOS for OC you should have no issues.

When you state you have 8GB of RAM is that one module or more?

Sounds like you got a bad kit of RAM.

The Ram that went bad was Two sticks of 8 gig ram. When Bold Eagle made the remark about memory control issue, I threw that at google. I saw more than a few with my motherboard have the same issue with Cosair Ram.

So if this memory goes bad, I will replace it with Gskill. Greatly appreciate your help in the matter. Thank you very very much, have a nice day......
