I am building a pc with the XFX nForce SLI mobo... and it has the worst schematic on the planet. I have the cpu, heatsink and fan on and plugged in easily enough, the memory in the proper slots ... I think. the 24 pin power to the mobo -check....its in the case...ok. Video card in... but for the life of me I cant figure out where to plug in the case speaker, power button and leds

you can get a pdf copy of the horrible schematic in the manual download here
    at the xfx site.

I am also toying with using the onboard sound though it is not something I normally do and have a card waiting in case it isn't up to snuff... but was wondering if anyone has any experience with the sound quality.

    thanks so much duckies.

It's the little multycoloured pins between ram and IDE socket.

I have found the HD sound on other boards, fairly good, but it depends on your taste.

yea I found that... do you know which is neg the colored wire or the white? and my stupid power led is a three pinhole connector... just to be a pain in the neck i am sure.

    thanks

I have found that the white is usually negative

Do you mean a plug with three holes, and two cables, if so, if you are careful, you can move the necessary wire into the corisponding hole, by using a tiny screwdriver to lift the clip on the side of the plug, to slide out wire and connected pin.

    will try that...thanks.

do you know anything about 2 pin 12 volt power clips...that I dont seem to have on my power supply that needs to go on the motherboard to power the cpu?

    not my day.

It's usually a 4 point plastic plug - ,I will have another look at your motherboard

I think we are looking at different things.CPU is powerd from motherboard, and the fan lead connects to the clip

page 20 of my manual which maybe different than the online one but... its near the front panel section. it is number 1 on the schematic. I have a four pin black and yellow wired connector.... but nothing with 8

It should work o.k, but for power user a 500watt psu is recommended.

If it's a good brand, and good on 12v rail, you should be o.k - Try it, and only get another if you find problems.
