I'm looking into building a new gaming PC, and I was looking for some motherboard recommendations. I know all about what video cards, RAM, processors, etc. are good, but I really don't have a clue as to what motherboard manufacturers are good or not. I'm looking for just a standard ATX, capable of holding 2GB of ram, an 8xAGP, and a 754 socket CPU, possibly even 939. Thanks for any recommendations.

dont bother with a 754 when you can get a superior 939 for pretty cheap now.

the best all around 939 motherboard right now is the MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum with the nforce3 Ultra chipset.

If you dont plan to overclock, the Asus A8V Deluxe is a good alternative, as Asus makes solid, reliable boards.

Also good is the Abit AV8 3rd-Eye, which is overclockable, but not as much as the MSI.

However, if you dont yet have a video card, I'd recommend the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, their new nforce4 PCI-Express motherboard.
