Motherboard sound plug?

Hi People,

I recently removed my sound card (it was rusty).

On my computer case, I have a microphone and sound jack on the front. (this use to plug into my sound card)

Since I have removed the sound card, I don't know where the jack pins plug into on the motherboard.

My motherboard is nvidia 680i

Any ideas where the jack plugs on the front of the case fit into? :confused

Rusty? How did it get rusty?

Ummm, if you look on the right side, it looks like this an EVGA board that uses NVIDA graphics and chipset.

The image is not really clear for my eyes to read the labels but there are several connections along the bottom edge. You might start looking there. You should also check your manual. It might have an labeled illustration.

 

If you didn't get a manual with the mobo, it's available here as a direct download in PDF format. There are various configurations of the mobo so, you'll have to look at your mobo.

Looking at the image of your board in the manual mdonah found (page 11) and comparing it to your image, your "Front audio connector" is on the bottom left side of your image.

You can see the small "button" piezoelectric speaker (the round, black device with the hole in the middle). To the left of the speaker is a small capacitor, then a larger capacitor, then the front audio header.
