im building new computer picked asus a8nsli deluxe is ther anything better than
that.gonna put alot of money into this is it worth getting 2 7800 geforce cards
or is there no gain.also what kind of cpu would i need hear the amd fx57 is top of the class.ive got cpu,psu,motherboard picked,not sure about case,cooling,harddrive or os to use maybe xp professional

 

Go with a Seagate hard drive. Hardly more expensive and a 5 year warranty.

I don't think SLI will be needed for a long, LONG time. I personally would choose an ATI card, but the 7800 is way complete overkill. It'd be money better spend to do buy a 6800GT and if you feel the need to upgrade then buy another and do SLI.

Corsair memory is good to me... I like MSI's video cards and mobos... But just do some checking around.

 

Oh

And an AMD 4000+ is much cheaper and performs just as well. There is nothing that has yet begun to tax even the 4000's power, much less an FX.

 

Nvidia is coming out with SLI x16 (Actually Dell has this already).

Basically, the video slot for pci-express is 16x, but when you put in two video cards in a SLI board, this gets knocked down to 8x on both slots. So, when this new chipset comes out for both intel and AMD, it will support 16x on both slots with 2 video cards.

 

Even at 8x pci-e the choke is the cpu not the video card.

 

Also, the drivers are a big part.

We'll have to see when it comes out to the hundreds of review websites. Only reason I put this info out, was anyone who is willing to shell out for bleeding edge tech, may want the best that is coming out around the corner.
