motorola surfboard cable modem

For some reason I can't get the drivers for the modem, I have tried to install the software that came with it. but there is still a conflict. The USB drivers are ok, the techs, cant seem to fix the problem. I have unplugged everything and plugged back up, when I install it stops an reads " no ethernet" I am not using ethernet only USB. Gosh, am I making any sense? I have been on the phone for ever with the teckes. anyone got any ideas? I am running xp with all updates.

Not sure I really understand your problem, but you can download the drivers for your version of the SURFboard® Cable Modem here:

Be SURE you know which particular modem you have; the USB drivers are NOT the same for each model. The page shows drivers for the SB5101 modem, the SB5120 modem, and the SBG900 Wireless modem, so double-check your model number.

While you're on that page, you might want to download each of the guides available; just look for the "Manuals & Guides" column, and right-click the link to the proper .PDF file for your modem, then choose the "Save As..." option to save the manual to your computer. Once you've downloaded the .PDF file, you should be able to open the manual / guide just by double-clicking the .PDF file. If it won't open, you'll need to download and install the Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the .PDF files...
