Mouse buttons keep reversing!

Does anyone know of a possible reason why the mouse buttons on a laptop would keep switching (left becomes right and vice versa)? I've changed from one mouse to another, even a new one, but after a short period of time, the buttons reverse again. I keep going into Control Panel to change them back. I also tried turning off drivers at startup, but no luck. Anybody have any idea what this might be? I couldn't find much on the internet about any possible malware doing this, but I'm thinking it must be malware? Norton, Malwarebytes and others find nothing...any ideas?
