Mouse doesn't move at all!

I'm desperate. Using Win 7 on someone elses custom built pc

This is a mouse that needs a dongle.

This has been working good for years but out of nowhere it just stopped dead center I have no idea why. This happened years ago but it was a sync issue so I synced the dongle and mouse and worked perfect. This time it isn't working. I tried system restore to 2 days before it occured and it still doesn't move! Any ideas why? Battery seems normal.

the dongle plugs into the back into a mouse port but i think it has a usb attached there too.... i think it allows for usb and for that thing in back but I will have to try once I get back at home... im at work for a couple hours but your idea sounds crazy enough to work right away for some reason

 

Would there be any other ideas? Just in case this doesn't work

 

ok it worked perfect but i swear the usb in back wasn't plugged in before this and worked for years

still wondering why it happened but it works now anyway thanks
