looking for just a plane-jane two button mouse that is wireless. can anyone recommend one? The mouse I have now is fine but I cannot disable the scroll button in the top that I keep accidentally tapping. Or is there a wireless mouse that I can completely customize the button responses within the software that comes with it? Using a logitech M510, but I cannot disable any button settings from it's software settings. I live with it, but a pain. Thanks for helping an old guy out.

I'm not so young myself. :)

You might be interested in a Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse.

looks interesting. Just hate buying something that expensive and doesn't do what I need and then have to return it. Feel like a heel. Have bad tremors in the hands and most of the mice out there are really so sensitive to incidental bumps or clicks, drives me nuts, but I live with it.

You're welcome. I've got tremors too although, they're predominantly on the left side. They still affect my penmanship with my right hand. I may, at some point, need to give my sister durable POA so my bills get paid but, I don't like the idea because if I kick the bucket, she'll become responsible for MY bills which would be too much for her to handle.

yeh, I know the problems one goes thru. Just trying to get by my "golden years" without being a burden on everyone.

Here's a thought, if you don't need the scroll wheel. I have previously opened my mouse to check the cable connection. The scroll wheel was easily removable. Check if your mouse is the same. You can seal the opening with some tape. Ask someone to help you because the screws holding the mouse together are tiny.

Or open Mouse Properties in Control Panel and set the wheel to only scroll 1 line at a time which will be (slightly) less annoying.

This is exactly how I have my mouse set. However, as you may know, tapping the scroll wheel acts like a third button and tilting the wheel has other functions.

    Hi

Majority of Microsoft Mice use the Control Centre and you can control what the buttons do and disable the scroll wheel (just checked this works ok on my MSFT Laser 8000) etc

I have an ARC mouse (older non-touch version) , brilliant small portable mouse, for the larger handed its not so perfect.

    List of supported mice HERE

never thought of taking it apart and just removing it. I'll have to get one of kids over here to try that. wish I could just go into settings and disable it, but no option there. Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions, will give them a whirl. Let you know what happens.

I have a cheap wireless 2-button, no scroll wheel and wireless k/b (they use one USB receiver). It's made by PC Line, model seems to be PCL-350 ('designed for windows XP - I don't know whether it will work with 7 but I guess there are similar products about)
    - can't find it on the internet it must have stoped being made :(

I use it not because I have poor hand control (which I do) but because it was wireless and much more convenient than wired devices. Disadvantage: mouse and k/b use batteries (I use rechargeables) and the receiver takes up 1 USB port/socket
