My mouse "jumps" around the screen, which is irritating to say the least as it's an effort to get the damn thing to do what you want it to. I suspect it's some kind of driver issue,as I've tried thgis mouse on another computer and it works fine, but as soon as I install it on this comp it start jumping. I've tried removing the driver and installing the latest with no result. I also have uniblue's driver scanner but it reports all my drivers are up-to-date..

    Hi

What make and model mouse do you have?

If its a mouse that has a seperate driver as in say the Microsoft Intellimouse or Logitechs drivers, then uninstall the driver and then reboot and see if the Windows default driver works ok (wont have the added options of the offical driver, but just need to test)

In Device Manager do you have any devices with Yellow ! amrks, if so by what?

What is your PC make and model version if form the likes of Dell, HP etc or if a home/custom build PC whats the motherboards make and model?
Just wondering if re-installing the chipset driver may help

I've already tried uninstalling the logitech driver and using the default,it jumped just as bad. No yellow symbols are reported in device manager.

my system's make and model are as follows

    System Manufacturer: AWARD_
    System Model: AWRDACPI
    BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
    Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz

I'd rather not fiddle with the chipset if possible as I'm worried that I'd do more harm than good.

    Hi

Which Logitech mouse do you have?

Sadly thats just your BIOS information and not the PC make, but to aid you to find the info on make and model of PC or Motherboard the below will help

Without trying drivers the best advice I can give is to if the mouse uses rechargable batteries, then change them (also change them if normal batteries) also give the infrared sensor a clean with soft cloth, also depending on surface the mouse is being used on try another mouse pad or just use a magazine or the desktop surface.

My mouse is a logitech ps/2 port mouse. When I generated the report I encountered a lot of messages stating "driver component sizes mismatch" at least 6 of them, which I disregarded and generated the report anyways.

I'm willing to try anything to get the stupid thing working like it's supposed to..

    Re: Mouse Jumping

If this is an optical mouse I'd suggest to use mouse pad with uniform, not reflective surface

oz, I'd suggest replacing the batteries in your ps/2 mouse, then refereshing its connection to the transmitter. Take care about how far away from the transmitter the mouse is. Are there a lot of "objects" (physical desktop) between the mouse and transmitter? That can make a difference.

    Finally,

You might want to have a look at Belarc Advisor to see your system components.
You can download it free at: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html.

    Hope this helps.
