Mouse Lag

I have a logitech lazer? Mouse (the one with the light on the botton instead of a ball) and it is connected to my PC via a usb cable plugged into a serial adapter. It has worked fine for years now, but sometimes when I am playing a game or just in my normal desktop, it laaaaags for about 1-2 seconds before it responds. I have freed up some disk space but that hasnt realy solved the problem. What could be causeing it?

Could be anything from video card driver, mouse driver, interference, meece surface etc.

Have you tried adjust the meece properties? Control Panel-> Mouse.
