My mouse starts moving and clicking on its own on Windows 7. At first I though it was a virus (Im still not convinced its not) but in the malware section I have been told there is no malware and I should come here.

After one update on Windows 7 the cursor starts moving and clicking on its own like crazy, making it impossible to even click one button. It happens every time I update the system. I have tried installing all the updated drivers and then update, or update before installing any drivers. Same result, after update and reboot cursor goes on its own. I have tried a different mouse, same results.

Anyone has any idea what it could be?

    Hi

I created the report and attached it, but it did not picked up the model of my CPU and motherboard (maybe because I have to run windows on safe mode?), so Ill tell you that my cpu is an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T, the motherboard is a Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 and the GPU is a AMD 5770. If you need something else just ask.

I dont have a second computer that has cd-writter (the rest are android sticks and an ARM Ubuntu server) but I am running Ubuntu in this same computer. If I burn the cd from Ubuntu would that be considered clean?

EDIT: I just saw the link for the cd is an exe not an iso. Is there a way to get the ISO instead of the exe?

EDIT2: Never mind, found the iso.

I run it and found no virus, just issued 10 warnings: 1 bad header file, 1 bad formated file and 8 compressed files.

I also run Bitdefender and ClamAV from a Ubuntu partition. Bitdefender found nothing, ClamAV found like 50+ threads, but I suspect they are false positives since the others found nothing. Ive included the txt file in the malware section just in case, but it seems my computer is clean.

What else could be causing the mouse jumping and clicking around after update? This is driving me insane, I need a working computer.

Im using a ps2 keyboard, not usb, so that should not be a driver issue. For mouse Im using a Steelseries Kana. Its updated with the last firmware from their site and Im installing the lastest drivers as well. I also tried with a shitty generic usb mouse and found the same results.

The other drivers Im installing are the ones for the video card directly from AMD webpage and the ones from the motherboard webpage. All last version. As I have explained before, I tried installing the drivers and then update, and update previous to installing any drivers. In both cases the cursor goes wild after update and reboot.

EDIT: And Im not seeing any errors on the Device Manager.

Which update are you doing that is giving you this grief?

I dont know. I click to install all updates, including optionals except language packages. Is there a way to find out other than reinstall and go installing them one by one?

Now Im installing Windows 7 in a virtual machine in a Ubuntu host. Im updating right this moment. After reboot, if the cursor does not go crazy Ill try the one program I need to run on windows (work related) and will try Starcraft through wine (hopefully my computer will be able to handle it). Thats basically all I use windows for.

If nobody else has any other suggestion I will use windows inside a virtual machine and be done with all this that is driving me insane.

If you have many updates to do, it is a good idea to a few at a time, not a massive amount at once. In this case it could help with troubleshooting...

See below for how to do one or just a few updates at a time. Uncheck them all, and then check the ones you wish to install.

Windows has a history of updates causing problems, if you don't do regular updates, i.e. a few at a time as they come out, it can be hard to know which one is problematic for you. Do a few, restart, see if the problem recurs. If not, a few more. When you hit the one that causes it, we can do more...

Im going to advance some work right now because all this bullshit has put me behind. When Im up to speed again, I might get a second hard drive and I will test it. If I do so I will report back. Thanks for the advice.
