Mouse Scroller and WLANAPI.DLL

Hello. So after painfully working at trying to save my old hard drive, I had to scrap it. Thank you very much to everyone who tried to help though.

So I went out and bought a new hard drive. Starting reinstalling all my drivers, etc. and now I've 2 problems.

The first is that I have a D-Link USB Adapter for wireless internet. As many of you know, this is not compatible with SP3 because SP3 overwrites an important file needed by the wireless named WLANAPI.DLL. So after searching I had two options. Replace the new WLANAPI with a previous one, or update the driver. I decided that updating the driver would be easiest. After downloading the driver, I tried to install it, however it will not recognize my USB adapter. It says that there is not one plugged in. I thought that maybe it was the USB itself, so I tried my other 9 USB spots. It didn't pick it up in any of them. So that got rid of my driver update option. My next option was to replace the new WLANAPI. Apparently when SP3 was installed it was supposed to create "WLANAPI.DLL(2)" which it did not. I've only 1 WLANAPI there. After browsing the internet, I cannot find a previous version of WLANAPI.DLL from SP2 ANYWHERE. Can anyone help me through this?

My second question is in regards to my scroller on my mouse. I have a Nexxtech 5 button optical mouse. I installed the CD's that came with the mouse. My scroller would not work. I then went into control panel, the mouse, and it says it's to scroll 1 line. However it does not. It WILL pan (When I press down on the mouse button I CAN move the screen that way) however it will not actually scroll.

So in general, how can I:
    Fix the mouse
Get driver update to recognize the adapter
Find a previous version of WLANAPI.DLL

Also, I forgot the mention, any other USB device works perfectly fine in any of these other spots.

Tried that. Although size on them differs, for some reason neither work to my advantage.

Also, update on the scrolling problem, the scroller works except for in Mozilla. I've version 3.02 or whatever it is.

    Alright, quick update:
I ended up rolling back to SP2. So now the WLANAPI.DLL problem is out of the way. I just had to uninstall and reinstall. The only possible way to get to SP3 is to copy and replace the file now, but SP2 is apparently more secure anyways so I'll stick with it.

Now I also went back to Mozilla Firefox 2. Previously I was using FF2 and the scroller worked fine. So I know that it's not the mouse. It will not scroll though. I tried the about:config method, I tried add-ons, I tried the Tools>Options thing, I cannot get this mouse to work. I've went to the control panel and did it via that, no luck. I've tried it with and without my mouse driver, again no luck. So now that the internet is out of the way, I've no idea how to fix this mouse.

So I should try the vista drivers even though I'm using XP?

Make a restore point first, then yes try the Vista driver because the driver you are using isn't working.
The newest driver, for Vista, might work on all the OSes because maybe the driver on the CD was pre XP SP3.

Yes, but I went back to SP2, so I'm currently using SP2. And my mouse worked perfectly fine before I changed my hard drive. Also, it's only acting up in Mozilla. It works perfectly fine in any other program.
