I built a computer last year and a month or two ago I upgraded to Windows 8. Since I've upgraded it, at random times, while moving my mouse, it would move extremely slowly for about ~5 seconds. After the 5 seconds are up, it would resume normal speed.

Furthermore, Chrome also has an issue where it will randomly freeze and I cannot do a thing about it unless I force close it.

I cannot replicate these issues at all as they happen at random times and have only happened after I went from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

    Hi

Did you upgrade Win7 to Win8 via an upgrade process or did you do a clean install of Win8?

Have you installed any new drivers for your PC? to be honest I would search out the driver for your PC and install the chipset and reboot and then the other ones, to be thorough.

The mouse issues, what is the make and model of mouse and did you install specific drivers for this mouse or let Windows install the drivers for it?

Random freezes are a nightmare to troubleshoot but while Chrome may freeze do other browsers such as IE10 and Firefox?

What Security applications do you have installed and are they fully up to date and Windows 8 compatible?

Do the issues happen in Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with networking)?
