Okay I have a problem. At random times, my mouse stops working! So then I have to manually turn off my computer. Then when I turn it back on, it starts to work again. This happens like 5 times a day. What should I do?

My computer is a Compaq, and I have Windows XP.
Thats all I know about my computer...

do you have a ps2 or usb mouse?

if it's ps2, then the connector might be a bit wobbly and be causing the problems. if it's usb, try plugging it into another set of usb connectors.

My mouse is plugged into the back of the tower...so does that mean its a usb?

hrm. look at the back. if the connector is round, then it's a ps2. if it's flat, it's a usb.

    I think its a ps2... its kind of round-ish.

yeah, try to wiggle it in more. if it looks like a flat connector on an adapter (usually a green adapter), then take out the adapter and plug the usb into the usb slot.
