mouse wandering all over the screen

    hello i have just put a itworks usb mouse on my laptop but the mouse keeps wandering all over the screen,does anyone know how to stop this please ?

    Did it come with a driver cd or floppy? The stock Microsoft mouse driver may not be handling it correctly. Also, try disabling your touchpad when the mouse is plugged in.

    its ok now,i found an answer,i had put my mouse on he dining room table and someone said put paper under it which i did,

    Aha - good point - optical mice don't like some shiny surfaces (my jet-black desktop is a good example - just took my mouse off the pad, and it took off everywhere).
