Mouse wheel hard/impossible to turn

My mouse (microsoft wireless laser mouse 8000) wheel stiffens and then will not turn. If I wait a bit it will scroll, but only for a moment and then it stiffens again.

I have downloaded and installed a new driver. I have checked with the device manager.

I have purchased a new mouse and it has the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Are you saying that the scroll wheel on the mouse physically will not turn?

Or do you mean that it stops responding?

If it physically will not move, then you have a defective mouse/s. AFAIK there is no software that can physically impede a scroll wheel from turning.

 

If it physically is not turning then try oiling it.
