Mouse won't drag windows, scroll or select...

    I am using a Touch Pad mouse and don't know what I have done, but I can no longer drag windows using the mouse, nor can I drag the scroll bars or select text. I am using Windows XP. Can anyone offer any advice, please?:eek:

    Go to your device manager do you see a exclamations point under the mouse ???

    If yes try re-install your mouse driver....

    Thanks for responding, Clark Kent. No, there is no exclamation mark under the mouse in the device manager.

    you could try anyway to re-install the driver....

    Did you install new software lately ???

    Maybe there is a conflict with the new software.....

    No new software. I have also run a full virus scan - nothing.
    Playing around, however, I have discovered that if I change my left button functions to the right button, it works. So I presume there is a problem with the left button and that I'll have to take it in for repairs.
