mov to dvd

I have never been so confused in all my life. Maybe it's just me and Im getting old but Im having a heck of a time with this dvd burner. It is compatible with what I am trying to do. I have a kodak digital camera that records video with sound and puts it in an .mov file. I am attempting to be able to burn this to dvd to be able to send the video stuff Im taking out to my family members who do not have computers for them to view on their dvd players. I tried converting it to an avi and then to dvd and lost the sound file. Im willing to purchase software at this point if there isnt free ware that does what I want. So my question is twofold. If I purchase Nero 7.0 will it let me copy dvds and convert my avis to be able to burn to dvd and secondly can I use it to put my .mov files to dvd or is there some other program? Any help would be great and please as I read in an earlier post only reply if you really can help me.

Your at a bit of a disadvantage just because the files are .mov. But i have Nero 7 and i looked into making a dvd and adding .mov files and it is possible. I sujest downloading the trial version first just to make sure it works.

How is the nero 7 with copying dvds and converting avi to dvd and burning?

You cant copy actual dvds but it does a good job of putting avi's on a DVD. If you wanna copy dvds use a program called DVDShrink.
