Move Program From Vista To Windows 10?

I had z3ta+ (a music vst) installed on my laptop. Unfortunately i had to recover my laptop. my data was all backed up but i had to reinstall some programs. z3ta needed a serial number which was on the installion disc but i cannot find this! I have z3ta+ installed and running on an old vista laptop. Is there anyway of transfering the program/app to my newer laptop?

 

Programs can NOT be moved. Only data like music, videos, pdfs and documents can be moved. Programs need to be installed on each computer.

 

You should be able to recover your product serial number using utilities such as Download ProduKey - MajorGeeks or others at Download Product Key Recovery Tools for Windows - MajorGeeks. These will look in the registry for the information, e.g., at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Cakewalk Music Software.

However, what you may then find is that particular product has already been registered with that serial number.

On my old laptop I used regedit to navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Cakewalk Music Software and it listed the version, serial number etc.
I was able to use this info to successfully install on my newer laptop.
