well i just downloaded a movie from limewire about 700mb , in the title it says Xvid but this movie file won't play on anything at all. I tried WMP , winamp , VLC player , Zoom etc.. i even tried finding out the codec with Gspot and it gave me an unkown codec. Is this file just a 700mb file of nothing? or is there an actual movie just i dont support the codec?

If GSpot reported an unknown codec, and nothing including VLC will play it, the file is either fake or corrupt. You can try GOMPlayer; when it can't play a file, it will go online and try to download the appropriate codec for you. I don't use Limewire for this exact reason (among others). Here's the link for GOMPlayer: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Gom_Player_d5595.html
