Movie download to DVD

I'm having a problem with my movie transfering it to a blank DVD
I downloaded an AVI movie from the internet and now I want to transfer it to a Blank DVD so I can watch it on my tv dvd player. I was told I had to change it from AVI to MPEG but I don't know how to change it and then get it on the dvd. Thanks for any help you can give me

Two comments. First off this site doesn't deal with piracy. Which is what downloading a movie is, so this isn't the place to be asking for help with that.

Secondly most programs like nero have built in tools to burn video cd/dvd's. You just have to follow the wizards.

Coco, how do you know it's piracy if he didn't state what the movie was?

Divx to DVD might just what you are looking for. CD Burner XP is a good freeware burning program, but if you have money to spend, I recommend Nero 6 Ultra edition (this is a link to the trial version-you can buy later if you like), it will transcode and burn the files in question to a DVD, with menus and titles even if you wish.

Honestly, do you have any doubt he's talking about a legal movie? Well you could argue that in a court room and more then likely win, there isn't a person on here who honestly believes he isn't talking about a pirated movie. I answered his question anyways though.

Plus I pointed out the rule since it was his first post at majorgeeks which kinda implies he has the wrong idea about what sort of community this is.

It could have been said with a little bit more tact and courtesy. Not everything downloaded off the internet is piracy.

True, all true Unless they are dumb enough to say "i downloaded Porkys" or something, I dont see a problem. I recently have gone through similar grief transferring a show that a friend was on from my Tivo to computer to DVD to editing it. If I was not specific you might assume the same from me

I appreciate your watching our back, but unless it is really obvious, I do not see a problem answering it. As soon as it is obvious, if ever, that it is piracy simply report the thread and it will be deleted or closed immediately.

get this prog. http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html it's for avi conversion to mpg - then you can burn it on dvd with another prog.
