I've got 5 computers running from bits and pieces I've gathered just for fun and learning. But I now need a hard drive out of one of the computers that has two. No, I can't buy a new one, I'm really broke. I want to take a hard drive out of the one computer and format it once in the other computer. Problem is I need to keep excel on the computer that I'm taking it out of. Can I move excel from one HD drive to another while their still in the computer?
I've got my main computer that I use so this operation is for fun and learning, not a major set back either way but I would sure like to get it done.

The preferred way is to re-install from the program CD to the new drive\path.

However here is something I found that claims to do what you're asking, including editing registry entries and shortcuts. Looks like they want $15 for it. I've never used it so I don't know if it actually works...
