Moving All Personal Files To New Windows 10 Setup

Hello again,
Following from my recent post I wish to transfer all relevant files from a mechanical drive to an SSD. Unfortunately the Mechanical drive has some limitations. It is unwilling to update. One of the partitions is full.
I thought that reinstalling windows 10 on the new drive is the answer. Then moving the files from the Mechanical drive.
My problem is that the administrators Microsoft account on the mechanical dive is attached to an email account that no longer works. Can I change this account?

Which requests that the Microsoft account for backups should be the same.
Any thought would really help.

I would move files to a backup drive until the mechanical drive has some elbow room, and then clone the drive to a (larger) SSD. Then move the moved files back to where they belong. You will probably need to resize at least one partition on the SSD. Forget the convoluted method in your link.

 

I have recently found this on youtube.
Have to disable the secure boot up before it will work.
Seems to be updating perfectly. Well I'm up to 91% so I am still keeping my fingers crossed.
