I used LapLInk (LL3.exe) last time I bought a new machine.
Is there anything better out there?
I'm going from a Win98 box to XP-Pro and I'd like to find something that is 'smart' about the applications so that it knows what DLL's, etc. are required for the apps I want to copy but one that won't ovewrwrite the XP-Pro OS components and files.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

If you connect both the machines together with a serial or USB cable, you could use the M$ Files and Settings Transfer Wizard built into XP. I Think it works with 98, as long at the host machine has XP.

Just checked yeah will work with win98.

Although for apps its a better idea to re-install them.

    Thanks for the reply....Anything Shareware??

The MS File and Settings Transfer Wizard seems to be lacking in flexibility...I'd like to only move selected components from the old PC to the New one.

Anything Shareware that would be like LapLink?

    Thanks again for your help!!!!
