Moving Bootup Drive Off Raid, want to install new C drive

    Hi,
I currently have a RAID 1+0 set up with a 4 channel pci Raid card, configured into 3 partitions. The C drive partition resides in this RAID. What I want to do is install a seperate hard drive off the primary IDE channel of the motherboard, and use this as my boot/C drive, while keeping the RAID for data and programs. How can I set up the new C drive and ignore what is on the RAID C drive? I have read in some other posts about doing a repair reinstall of XP Pro, but I'm not exactly sure of the process for moving my current settings. Should I remove the RAID card until the new C drive is set up, and just make sure the BIOS is set to look for the motherboard C drive first? Then hook up the RAID again? And how do I get the old settings into the new install of XP? Could I possibly do this by Ghosting my current C drive?

My current C partition is only 5 GB, which is partly why I want to put it on a larger stand-alone drive. Also, this should improve performance overall.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    docbob
