moving programs to e drive

    p4 2.4
    xp pro
    i partioned my harddrive..(dont know why)how do i move programs to other side...20gig on c and 60 gig on e drive

    The best way is to just reinstall them. If you cut and paste them, the paths for all of the programs will change which will screw up registry entries, shortcuts and a countless amount of other things. Some programs will not run and you will not be able to uninstall them. Also, most programs install to the "Program Files" folder on the same drive that Windows is installed on. It may be good to either change your drive back to one partition or to just do a clean install of Windows. The only reason that you would need your drive split up into more than one partition is if you had 2 or more operatins systems installed or if your drive was more than 133GB or whatever the size is that Windows no longer recognizes.

    The size is 137Gb, but since SP1 (maybe SP2), Windows can utilize partitions larger than this.
