Moving Terabytes Of Files, Best Software?

Hello all,

I am looking for some suggestions on the best software to facilitate moving many terabytes of data from an old QNAP to another NAS across the network. Previous attempts to transfer the contents of several drives have failed due to the SLOW transfer of data and many file copy errors along the way. QNAP that currently holds the data is running on Windows Server 2003 I think, which is a major limitation I guess. Our sysadmin prefers FastCopy, which I'm willing to use, unless you wise folks have another suggestion that will better suit our needs. Thanks for your help.

 

No idea if it will work better than anything else you could try, but I go with TeraCopy. What I really like is the choice box that comes with every paste. I use it to move large numbers of files and between disks, and it works well for me:

I agree with AtlBo. Teracopy is an excellent program. Moving that many files will be slow with any program and there will be corruption to some.

I am a user of TeraCopy and I've had issues moving a lot of data, sometimes it just freezes up. When I am moving many gigs or terabytes of data you can't beat Robocopy.

i know this is not ideal, but these sorts of problems is why i have always done mass copying in smaller batches. it's just easier to figure what went wrong, if there is an error.
the one program i have used when i need "to set and forget" is: nscopy by nullsoft.
