Try this link and tell us what you see.

I just used it to get to cdnow and saw no codes at all.

You have java enabled in the browser? Javascript? You have all of the default settings in Tools, Options, Advanced?

Yup. You've got a bad installation of FB. My guess would be that you used the installer version, instead of the plain zipped (no installer) version. The installer versions often have bugs, and they change from day to day.

    My recommendation, step-by-step:

Download a new copy of the ZIPPED Mozilla Firebird files for Windows HERE, through Major Geeks.

First, Delete the entire current MozillaFirebird folder and everything that's in it.
Second, Delete the entire Phoenix folder (in Docs & Setts\username\Application Data -- it's all hidden, but you know how to handle all of that stuff in Explorer). That's your profile and all of the settings files.
Third, UNZIP the download to the parent folder you want to use (I unzip mine to C:, because I want to have C:\MozillaFirebird, but the default will unzip to C:\Program Files and will give you C:\Program Files\MozillaFirebird.)
Fourth, run the program and set up the basics without doing anything fancy to personalize it, and then check your problem sites. All should be well.
Fifth, try customizing it as you had it before, but after every tweak, check the former problem sites. If one of them suddenly goes bad on you, you've found the setting that screwed up the first installation. If nothing bad happens, you've proven that the installation you had before was faulty.

It clearly is NOT the case that Mozilla Firebird displays those sites incorrectly, and it's clearly NOT the case that Mozilla Firebeird creates a whole batch of errors in the Tools listings, SO ...

There's something wrong with YOUR installation, and the easiest, surest cure is to OUT it and IN a NEW copy.
