thunderbird tells me it is already running or not responding telling me to close the program or restart the system this happened after a new install of the program.

It also tells me to first close the thunderbird process or restart.

I already restarted, what is that process it is talking about ?

    need help quick.

Thank you for looking but I figured it out with some help from the web, you need to uninstall thunderbird, clean the registry of all signs of thunderbird, reboot the system delete the files in the users profile under "application data" just delete the whole thunderbird folder, then proceed to reinstall the program this fixed it for me.

Or you could just ctrl+alt+del and end processes it and start it up again. :)

Sometimes when you X out of a Mozilla program it is still running and you don't even know it. Happens to me once in a while with Firefox. And its odd that restart doesn't fix it, but the ctrl+alt+del does everytime for me.
