Mozilla Thunderbird

Is there any way to export my settings, contacts, and filters to something like a flash drive, so when I install Thunderbird on a new machine, I can transfer everything over? If so, how? I can't find "export" anywhere. LOL

 

Well, not a program export, but this option seems like the easy route I'd take to do what you're trying to do:

(Assuming you're using Windows XP, this may be slightly different if you're using Vista)
1. Open Windows Explorer
2. If you don't already have it enabled, enable the Show hidden files and folders option by going (in Windows Explorer) to Tools, Folder Options, then in the View tab choosing (under Hidden files and folders) the "Show" option
3. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data\Thunderbird
4. Copy all folders/files in that directory to removable media
5. Paste the folders/files (from the removable media) to the same location on the other computer

 

I was thinking the same thing. My only hesitation was you would want to make sure that you had the same version of TBird on both computers. Also just copying and then replacing the Profiles folder might be enough(the .dat and .ini file in the main TBird folder might be related to the particular desktop display[I'm just thinking out loud and am unsure which would work better].

I've used mcsmc's method in FireFox and it worked perfectly..keeping addons and bookmarks intact.
