Can anyone help. My Thunderbird has suddenly stopped connecting to my NTL pop server. Even the splash screen won't load. I have checked all pop/smtp settings and they are fine. I have tried with Zonealarm turned off and pc tools antivirus turned off. I did recently uninstall the bundled bullguard on my vista but I have run cc cleaner and cant find any remnants of bullguard spam filter/email scanner that may be screwing things up.

I set my wifes email up in windows mail and it all worked fine so its not the pop server (NTL).

I have uninstalled thunderbird and re-installed my profiles all stay there (phew!) but still wont connect. There is though the following in the error console, but it means nothing to me.

    Error: e.location.getItemLocation(e.id) has no properties
    Source File: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Thunderbird/components/nsExtensionManager.js
    Line: 4244

    can anyone help?

    thanks

I will be honest I tried everything I could find to no avail, after many hours I thought I would set up an account on Windows Mail. Worked no problem, decided life was too short and set up multiple accounts on windows mail.

    thanks for the help though.
