Mozilla Update Not Working...

i have the latest version of Mozilla Firefox... when i click on that Red Circle W/ The Arrow icon in the upper right to install a new "Critical" updates (Firefox 1.0.3 Software Update), the downloading screen just remains idle and nothing happens....

i could not find where to download this critical update on the update.mozilla.org website...

thanks for any help in advance...

 

on a side note.. how can i disable JavaScript... i was reading an article on Yahoo News today about Critical Security Flaws identified w/ Mozilla Firefox... they recommanded disabled Javascript until patches were released...

 

Tools/Options/Web Features, then simply uncheck enable Java Script.

That is because the update has not been published yet.

 

Shadow... i've been seeing this update listed for almost 2 weeks now... so i don't believe it is the same update that they are releasing to address the 2 security flaws that were made public today...

so this is a critical update that was supposed to be installed awhile back... i believe it's a problem with the browser, not with availability of hte update itself...

 

I believe that Mozilla publishes its updates and fixes as part of the browser release. I have had 1.0.3 on my system since its release on April 15th. The current Security Advisor is the only one for 1.0.3

i've been seeing this update for a few weeks now and have been unable to install it... are you telling me this particular update hasn't been released yet even though it's listed as something i can download?

 

You can't download a patch. You have to download the full program to get the update. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

 

Firefox doesn't update and patch in the same manner as IE. Whenever Mozilla.org patches or updates Firefox, they release a new installer for the updated version of Firefox. You have to download the installer, unitall your old version and install the new one.

 

Oooooh okay, thanks for clarifying... i uninstalled the old version and just installed 1.0.3...
